Many of them have been awarded the title of a World Heritage site and one that should not be missed is the magnificent Royal Exhibition Building. The Great Exhibition in 1880 built this building and it is one of the buildings that still stands from this event. The Parliament of 1901 was inside the building and in 2004 it was awarded the World Heritage title. The restored interior hosts many trade shows and also exhibitions dedicated to art and culture. The Old Melbourne Gaol Crime & Justice center will explore some of the infamous prisoners that were imprisoned in the edifice or hanged there.
