This is a great spot to take your family on a summer vacation. You can do as much as you want or as little as you want. Here are five great adventures on Siesta Key.
1) Enjoy the beaches – This is pretty much what Siesta Key is known for. The beaches here are consistently ranked as one of the best in the country. You will appreciate the beauty of this spectacular place. Do you enjoy long walks on the beach? You can walk for several miles along Siesta and Crescent beaches. The waters of the Gulf of Mexico are warm and soothing. Taking a dip in the water will refresh you and help you unwind those knots.
2) Siesta Key village – Are you looking to put your party hat on? There are several fun spots to enjoy a cold one with your friends and family. Go the Daquiri Deck for some outdoor eating and drinking. Gilligans is another fun place to spend time with friends. Don’t worry if you are not much of a drinker as this is very family friendly environment as well.
3) Parasailing – Need something to get your blood pumping? Hop on a boat and get high in the air with a parasail. You will enjoy seeing Siesta Key from hundreds of feet in the air. The views are breathtaking and this is one of those experiences in life that you and your family will never forget.
4) Snorkeling – The water visibility can be very good off Siesta Key. If you enjoy snorkeling then grab your gear. You and your family can spend the entire day enjoying the water off Siesta Key. You will never know what you might see.
5) Fishing – Do you enjoy hooking into and fighting a fish? You can do that on Siesta Key. Grab a rod and reel and fish off the beach or rent a boat or hire a captain. There are plenty of spots to fish in the Gulf of Mexico or in the Sarasota bay. If you visit in the summer time you might hook into a nice tarpon.

If a fantastic night out is what you fancy, look no further than Siesta Key Florida. You’ll find that there are several options that will lead to the perfect night out with friends and family. Many people find that spending a night on Siesta-Key is the perfect way to spend your free time, especially after a long day in the hot Florida sun. It’s the greatest place to enjoy an assortment of live music and other events throughout the year, which make vacationing here absolutely wonderful.
Live music is just one of the daily pleasures for those visiting the Key. If for some reason you do require a “loud” party, all you have to do is hop into Sarasota across the Stickney Point Bridge and you’ll find plenty more bars in the Gulf Gate area. Most of these spots will have the traditional bar feel and will be just as much fun, and there’s also Downtown Sarasota just in case.

In need of a summer vacation with the family? Now is the time to start planning a vacation with your loved ones. If the idea of swimming in the ocean, relaxing on a gorgeous beach catching some rays with your family sounds great then you should consider Siesta Key, Florida.
It is easy to get to this island paradise. If you live in the state of Florida you are probably only a few hours away. Siesta Key is only about an hour away from Tampa, 2 hours from Orlando, 3.5 hours from Miami and and 4.5 hours from Jacksonville. If you live out of the state you can catch a flight into either Sarasota International Airport or Tampa International Airport. Flying into Sarasota is more convenient but there are not as many flights as Tampa.
Siesta Key is a magnificent eight mile barrier island off the coast of Sarasota, Florida. It is surrounded by the relaxing and clear waters of the Gulf of Mexico and Sarasota bay. People from all over the world visit the island to relax, spend time with the family, catch some rays and enjoy the beach. You can fill your vacation days with activities or basically do nothing if you choose.

Many people vacation on Siesta Key and ultimately end up buying a vacation or winter residence. Siesta Key real estate is diverse. You can find anything from a cozy, affordable two bedroom, two bathroom condo near the beach to a very expensive, private estate on the beach.
