A Gal’s List Of The Hottest Places In New York City
New York City has some pretty amazing shopping for both men and women. While it is most definitely an expensive activity, shopping in New York is great because you get to see the sights while ducking in to your favorite stores.
Here are some of the best areas to check out while shopping in New York.
The Meatpacking District is one of the hottest areas in the City right now. Alexander McQueen and the Theory Headquarters are both located here. The newly constructed highline product spans over the area and makes for a great scenic view as well.
An always-popular place to go shopping in New York City is SoHo. Prince Street and Spring Street get way too crowded during the weekend, so stray off the beaten path by walking down other streets like West Broadway or Thompson Street.
Another fun area to check out for shopping is the East Village. Some of the best stores to check out around this part of town include Urban Outfitters, Odin and Pinky Otto.
Of course, an extremely popular area to shop is 5th Avenue and the Upper East Side in general. Be careful though, because everything uptown just ends up costing more money. Bloomingdale’s on 57th has sales a few times a year, so go while your favorite brands are sold on sale.
Another area that is notorious for high end shopping, but is located on Long Island is the Americana Shopping Center in Manhasset. Also known as the “miracle mile,” this outdoor strip of luxury retailers is hard to beat.
These are some of the areas that I have been going to recently, and if you happen to find yourself in Manhattan, then you can go here too!

Top Destinations: Five Great Places to Spend Your Christmas Holidays
If another Christmas at home is all too much to bear, and you long for an alternative to the usual cold turkey and roast potatoes, here are a few seasonal alternatives:
1. Aspen: The snowy playground of the rich and famous makes for a great winter skiing break. Celebrity spot on or off-piste, sip cocktails in a trendy nightclub, or take it easy in your ski lodge or luxury hotel. Not really a place for the kids, but if you’re young, wealthy and attractive, this could be the best Christmas holiday break!
2. Edinburgh: The bracing but beautiful Scottish city of Edinburgh in the United Kingdom holds festive Christmas events from late November to early January. Come for the fun fair, Scotland’s biggest ferris wheel, Christmas markets, show and pantomimes. Indulge in lamb, rabbit or pheasant for your Christmas dinner at one of Edinburgh’s many grand hotels, and be sure to stay on a week for Hogmanay – often voted the best New Year’s Eve party in the world.
3. Sydney, Australia – If the cold really gets to you, enjoy the ultimate escape in Sydney Australia. The capital enjoys thousands of visitors this time of year and when you see the great beaches and weather it’s easy to see why. For an Aussie festive experience head down to Bondi or Manly beach, light up a Barbecue and enjoys fish, shrimps and green salads. Of course don’t forget the chilled beer!
4. New York – The Big Apple is one of the best places to celebrate Christmas – they certainly know how to celebrate in style. The lights, the Broadway shows and the amazing shopping are just a few reasons to visit. Make sure you stop by Bloomingdales and Macy’s for a last minute present dash and also indulge in a horse-drawn carriage in Central Park and an ice skate at the Rockfeller centre.
5. Alaska – Animal and reindeer lovers should consider a Christmas break in the Alaskan town of Anchorage. As well as enjoying a true snowy winter you can visit the town’s popular tourist attraction, the local reindeer farm. Here can you can feed and pet reindeer as well as other animals such as elk, moose and blacktail deer. Although be warned, they also serve reindeer in the restaurant at the end of your tour!

The Greatest Locations To Dine In New York
So you’re coming to New York City for the first time. You’ve heard all the great things about the food, but you have no idea where to go! Here is a quick rundown to some of the best restaurants, and neighborhoods, to dine in on your trip to New York.
When it comes to the East Village, there is never a shortage of options. I currently live in the East Village and sometimes the number of dining options overwhelms me. Some of the best restaurants in the area include, but are not limited to Graffiti, Hearth and Momofuku Ko. Regardless of what you’re in the mood for, this is certainly an area to get your fix.
If you are looking for something outside the box, Graffiti on East 10th Street is Indian inspired small plates that seriously made me contemplate vegetarianism for 45 minutes. Ippudo serves a world-class bowl of ramen as well. On a cold rainy day, it does not get better than Ippudo.
The West Village is another hotspot for restaurants. I personally love the Fatty Crab, which offers an Americanized take on Malaysian BBQ. The portions are large, spicy, and most importantly, cheap. Ushiwakamaru is a Japanese-style sushi bar where the fish is so fresh, you’ll feel like you’re in Kyoto if you close your eyes.
Tribeca is never at a loss for fine dining. Bouley and Nobu are two of the best restaurants in New York and appropriately, two of the toughest reservations to get.
The consensus when it comes to fine dining has to be Columbus Circle. This small area houses some of the best restaurants in the world. The list goes on and on, but some of the best ones include Per Se, Masa, A Voce, Marea and Jean Georges. That’s a ton of Michelin Stars in such a small area!
NoLita quietly has a nice selection of restaurants to pick from as well. Caf Habana is a tourist trap, but if you can go during off hours, the grilled corn is worth it. My new go-to sandwich spot, Torrissi Italian Specialties is another must-try. They make their buffalo mozzarella in-house daily, and it shows. Some of the best I’ve ever had.
These are just a few of the great eating areas, but it wouldn’t be right to make a food list about New York and not include Murray Hill, the Upper East Side and the Financial District. Just kidding! Stick to the areas mentioned above and you’ll leave New York a happy (and full) camper.

Tips For Finding Cheap Hotels
Going on a trip is a great thing to be able to do. However, for some people they will want to go for as low of a cost as possible. To help them out you are going to need to have some tips to find cheap hotels. Some of those tips can be easy to follow, but some of them will be very time consuming and will require some work on your part.
One thing that you are going to want to do is make sure that you set budget. By having one of these in place you will find that you are going to find a room that you can afford and not one that you want to afford.
One method is to consider what time your going to be going on your trip. That can help you determine the cost of the room and it could also help you figure out how crowded the area is going to be when you are in that area.
Another tip to help you out will be to search the area that your going to be staying in. By searching the area and contacting the board of tourism for that area you could find some locally owned hotels that are not listed anywhere else that have rooms available for a low cost that you can enjoy using.
You will also find that picking up the phone and calling the location can help you save a tremendous amount of money as well. Calling the hotel might seem like a silly idea because many have their best rates available on the internet, but you could find that some of them are going to be running a managers special that could be lower than what you are booking your current room for.
Something else to consider doing will be staying further away from the attraction that you want to see. The distance to the attractions can be a factor in the price as well. For example if you are traveling to the ocean the hotels that have beach front will cost more than ones that are a couple of streets inland. So if you do not mind driving or walking some you could find that the one inside of the town might be the better choice.
Taking a trip can be a multitude of issues. One of the issues is going to be finding out where you want to go to, but then your going to have the issue of finding cheap hotels. Once you know some of the methods that you can find a low cost place that can allow you to have a great trip.

Many people have a couple of reasons why they travel like vacations or business. Just because your trip is business related doesn’t mean you should not be able to have a lot of fun. After the business part is done you can enjoy a fine restaurant or find out what is happening with the nightlife. The things you get to do will depend on where you happen to travel. Most places that you travel to will give you many opportunities to have fun.
Before leaving on a trip you have to consider many things before hand. The first thing you have to do is decide where you are going. Once you have picked your destination you then have to decide what you will do on your trip. You can have a lot of fun on any trip even a trip meant for business purposes. All it takes is a little planning and then you can squeeze some fun into your business trip once the business is over.
The planning of your trip is the key to a wonderful trip. Make sure that you have all your plans in order before you leave for the destination. When taking a trip for pleasure it should be simple to plan many fun filled activities. A business trip can be harder to plan for because you must plan around the work related things. You have to consider where you are going in order to plan the fun stuff.
The places you visit will all have very different things to see and do. Once you have decided on the things you plan to do when you get to your destination there is still more to do. You also have to acquire accommodations. Choosing your accommodations is a very important part of travel. You can not just get to your location and hope they have a place open for you to stay.
You should decide ahead of time if you prefer to stay in an apartment, condo, hotel, cottage, or rental house. You should also choose the number of bedrooms you would like for you accommodations to have and how big you want it to be. If you only plan to travel for a couple of days or less then a small hotel room might work fine. However if you plan to travel for a couple of weeks or more then you should probably rent something larger.
You will also need to decide if you prefer a room with a view or maybe even a jacuzzi. There are some places you have to go through rental agencies to rent from but there are others that you can rent straight from the owners. If you are dealing with the owner of the property you can try to get a good price on the place.
Some owners will come down on the price or even give you a night free if you stay for more than two or three nights. You can have fun on your trip whether you are traveling by yourself on a business trip or with a family on vacation. I think we all agree that a vacation will be much more fun than traveling for business.
Family being with you can make the whole trip a lot more fun. No matter where you go you are bound to find something that the entire family will have fun doing.
There are many ways that people can travel, you can fly to your destination, drive, or take a train. The best place to start your vacationing plans is to go online or visit a travel agent.

Food Suggestions To Take On A Picnic
When the weather turns sunny and the flowers start to bloom, people start thinking about picnics. Picnics are a great way to enjoy the warmer months and nature, with a minimum of expense and planning needed. If you have a cooler and a blanket, you’re set.
The setting is up to personal preference. Whether you like meadows or beaches, rocky terrain or manicured gardens, you’ll want to do a bit of planning. While you could just toss food into a cooler and head out, the experience would not be enjoyable. Instead, do a bit of planning and make for a memorable experience. Here are some suggestions for special picnic foods:
Potato salad: Potato salad is an ideal choice to include in your picnic cooler. The cooler will keep the salad cold for several hours, and it will stay fresh and tasty. You can find potato salads of different flavors, some are sweeter and others have mustard or a vinegar base, so you can tailor the choice to your own preferences. Potato salad is also easy to come by. You can make it yourself without much effort. If you don’t want to take the time to make potato salad yourself, though, you can easily purchase premade salad at your local deli or grocery.
Watermelon: Watermelon is a great choice for picnics. Most everyone loves watermelon, because it is sweet and refreshing. Kids especially tend to love a nice red slice of watermelon. There is very little cleanup required, also, because you hold the rind to eat it and don’t need utensils or even plates.
You can make watermelon easier to manage by cutting it into chunks before the picnic. If you want to do this, store the cut melon in a Tupperware container. You can also buy precut watermelon at many grocery stores.
Bread and cheese: To round out a picnic meal, include bread and cheese. This pairing is filling and tasty and goes great with fruit and potato salad. Pick a bread with some structure to it, like a baguette, and a firm and flavorful cheese. Cut the bread and cheese at home, and pack in your cooler. You’re all set!
Deviled eggs: People tend to love deviled eggs in a variety of settings. Still, this finger food is a great choice for picnics. They are small, tasty, and easy to make.
Deviled eggs also bring a variety of textures and flavors to a picnic meal. They have a creamy base, but also include crunchy elements. This is pleasing to many people. Plus they can be eaten in just a few bites.
