New York City has some pretty amazing shopping for both men and women. While it is most definitely an expensive activity, shopping in New York is great because you get to see the sights while ducking in to your favorite stores.
Here are some of the best areas to check out while shopping in New York.
The Meatpacking District is one of the hottest areas in the City right now. Alexander McQueen and the Theory Headquarters are both located here. The newly constructed highline product spans over the area and makes for a great scenic view as well.
An always-popular place to go shopping in New York City is SoHo. Prince Street and Spring Street get way too crowded during the weekend, so stray off the beaten path by walking down other streets like West Broadway or Thompson Street.
Another fun area to check out for shopping is the East Village. Some of the best stores to check out around this part of town include Urban Outfitters, Odin and Pinky Otto.
Of course, an extremely popular area to shop is 5th Avenue and the Upper East Side in general. Be careful though, because everything uptown just ends up costing more money. Bloomingdale’s on 57th has sales a few times a year, so go while your favorite brands are sold on sale.
Another area that is notorious for high end shopping, but is located on Long Island is the Americana Shopping Center in Manhasset. Also known as the “miracle mile,” this outdoor strip of luxury retailers is hard to beat.

4. New York – The Big Apple is one of the best places to celebrate Christmas – they certainly know how to celebrate in style. Here can you can feed and pet reindeer as well as other animals such as elk, moose and blacktail deer. Although be warned, they also serve reindeer in the restaurant at the end of your tour!

The Greatest Locations To Dine In New York

So you’re coming to New York City for the first time. You’ve heard all the great things about the food, but you have no idea where to go! Here is a quick rundown to some of the best restaurants, and neighborhoods, to dine in on your trip to New York.
When it comes to the East Village, there is never a shortage of options. I currently live in the East Village and sometimes the number of dining options overwhelms me. Some of the best restaurants in the area include, but are not limited to Graffiti, Hearth and Momofuku Ko. Regardless of what you’re in the mood for, this is certainly an area to get your fix.
If you are looking for something outside the box, Graffiti on East 10th Street is Indian inspired small plates that seriously made me contemplate vegetarianism for 45 minutes. Ippudo serves a world-class bowl of ramen as well. On a cold rainy day, it does not get better than Ippudo.
The West Village is another hotspot for restaurants. I personally love the Fatty Crab, which offers an Americanized take on Malaysian BBQ. The portions are large, spicy, and most importantly, cheap. Ushiwakamaru is a Japanese-style sushi bar where the fish is so fresh, you’ll feel like you’re in Kyoto if you close your eyes.
Tribeca is never at a loss for fine dining. Bouley and Nobu are two of the best restaurants in New York and appropriately, two of the toughest reservations to get.
The consensus when it comes to fine dining has to be Columbus Circle. This small area houses some of the best restaurants in the world. The list goes on and on, but some of the best ones include Per Se, Masa, A Voce, Marea and Jean Georges. That’s a ton of Michelin Stars in such a small area!
NoLita quietly has a nice selection of restaurants to pick from as well. Caf Habana is a tourist trap, but if you can go during off hours, the grilled corn is worth it. My new go-to sandwich spot, Torrissi Italian Specialties is another must-try. They make their buffalo mozzarella in-house daily, and it shows. Some of the best I’ve ever had.
These are just a few of the great eating areas, but it wouldn’t be right to make a food list about New York and not include Murray Hill, the Upper East Side and the Financial District. Just kidding! Stick to the areas mentioned above and you’ll leave New York a happy (and full) camper.

Many people have a couple of reasons why they travel like vacations or business. Just because your trip is business related doesn’t mean you should not be able to have a lot of fun. After the business part is done you can enjoy a fine restaurant or find out what is happening with the nightlife. The things you get to do will depend on where you happen to travel. Most places that you travel to will give you many opportunities to have fun.

Once you have picked your destination you then have to decide what you will do on your trip. You can have a lot of fun on any trip even a trip meant for business purposes. All it takes is a little planning and then you can squeeze some fun into your business trip once the business is over.

When one is making travel plans the one place that is close to the United States is the wonderful country of Canada. Complete with its majestic mountains, lakes and other attractions it is one of the most exciting countries to visit in the world. Bordered by the Pacific, Atlantic and Arctic oceans, it is the second largest country in the world, second only to Russia.
The history of Canada is fascinating. Aboriginal people originally occupied the land and, after various explorations by European countries a United Kingdom Federal Domination was formed in 1867. It was in 1982 that it took action and severed dependence on the British Parliament. As large as the country is it only has 31 million people, which leaves a vast amount of unoccupied territory.
Canada’s official languages are English and French. Quebec has the largest concentration of French speaking people but anyone visiting the country can find an interpreter if they speak neither of those languages. Ottawa is the capital of Canada and Toronto is the largest city. The Canadian Parliament is located in Ottawa and tours can be arranged to personally witness Parliamentarian Debates in person.
Canada has 10 provinces and three territories. The Yukon, Northwest and Nunavut are Canada’s three territories, some of which remain largely uninhabited.
