Obtaining the Most From your Cruise
The balmy ocean breeze blows through your hair, the clear blue water sparkles below, along with the warm sun shines documented on your back. Cruise ships. What amazing experiences. What costly experiences. If you wish to continue vacation but you’re with limited funds, a cruise may just become the perfect cheapest option, that’s, find out the insider tricks.
How could a cruise possibly be a low priced method to travel? you may well ask. This will depend on where you’re going and what you wish to undertake. When you buy a cruise you make payment for for transportation, lodging, and food. When you lodge at a hotel you only pay simply for lodging. Want you look at the extra price of transportation and food, many times, a cruise actually happens cheaper. If you plan on seeing many different places, including scattered islands or regions of Europe, a cruise is a way to go.
On the luxury crusie ship there are actually tricks to spending less. Most cruise companies don’t include tours, in any other case sell them in expensive packaged deals. Don’t think of buying them. You’ll save tons of money by happening your tour. Research what you look for to check out, or find in which the luxury crusie ship tours goes, then go there yourself. You may miss out on a matching red hat, stopping continually for restroom breaks, or having the freedom to educate yourself regarding, but hey, it will be cheaper.
Another thing that can be done to save money would appear obvious. Only do the free things about the cruise ship. This doesn’t mean you can not have fun; just don’t do those extra such thinggs as paying to determine a motion picture in the room, requesting special services, or eating along at the upscale restaurant fully briefed. When you find yourself booking your cruise make sure the items want are included, swimming pools, rock-climbing, food, live performances, whatever you need. Once on board, avoid any additional things. Many cruiseships necessary you are able to eat buffets that will allow someone to take food. You’ll be able to to save the food, then eat it later because you are yourself tour. Doing this, you can save money by avoiding at costly restaurants on shore.
A cruise would be the highlight of the year and also a wonderfully relaxing and refreshing time. Do not allow anything spoil that some time. When you finally step foot within the ship don’t be concerned about anything you left at home. If you concerned with the safety of one’s home, one smart way to chill is to put in a cheap, but secure, home monitoring system. Doing this, when you go onto the ship you have not keep worrying about and you can enjoy your cruise.

Childrens Luggage Makes Travel More Fun
Vacationing with children can be a challenge to the parents as well as the child unless you make the experience a pleasant one. No matter which type of traveling you are doing, by plane, car or cruise, their safety and comfort is of prime importance.
One of the great tips when traveling with children is to see that items that they need during travel are readily at hand. Childrens luggage is a great tool for active participation from the child that gives her or him a sense of responsibility and a measure of control over their own things. Pack the kids suitcases with items that they can get themselves when they need it, or at the very least, you can get child’s items from their own suitcase instead of having to dig through your own to find the right thing.
Make it fun when you go shopping for your childrens luggage. There are a variety of colors, decorations and sizes available. Different styles will provide a variety of zippered compartments and pouches. There are kids rolling luggage, which may be the better choice if you are traveling by air. Let each child bring her or his own carry-on onto the plane and packed with items they may need for their comfort and entertainment for the duration of the flight. Make certain, however, that any kids rolling luggage you may purchase will fit beneath the seat in front of your child. Remember, you want your child to be able to reach their own items during the flight and not require an adult to get their luggage from the overhead compartment.
Make it easy on yourself when sight checking the family luggage by having personalized kids luggage for the kids. Their names emblazoned on their own luggage makes it easy to spot and avoids mix ups with other luggage. And if your kids don’t want a suitcase, or it’s bigger than they need, you can always get personalized kids backpacks. Easy to keep an eye on them, and a smaller number of things for your children to carry.
How to Choose Good Kids Suitcases
You want your childrens luggage to last awhile and still serve your child’s needs. Make sure that any piece you buy has a handle or strap that will fit the size of your childrens hands, and if you have purchased kids rolling luggage, see that it is easy for the child to maneuver. All kids suitcases should be lightweight so that when it is packed your child can lift, carry or roll it comfortably. Durability is another important consideration. Look for quality construction and strong stitching around exterior pockets, pouches and compartments. The last thing you want is for an external pouch to break open and your child loses whatever was in that pouch.
Depending on the needs of the child during your vacation, you might want a large inside compartment for storing clothes, shoes and other necessities, and smaller, external pockets for the items your child might need for comfort and entertainment during active travel. The easier the accessibility to these items during travel, the happier and more content your child will be. If you do purchase kids rolling luggage, be sure to avoid any with cheap plastic wheels. If they break, guess who is going to end up carrying that luggage?
What Goes Into Kids Suitcases
Think comfort, necessities and entertainment! Depending on the length of time for your trip and any restrictions you may encounter, you’ll want to pack those items your child can use for herself or himself during the trip. Comfort and necessity items might include medication, tissue, a sweater, slippers, a change of underwear. Unrefrigerated snacks might be appropriate, water or juice boxes if allowed. Be sure to keep them entertained with their favorite books, games, mp3 player with their favorite music, and other fun diversions. And while you’re at it, include a plastic grocery bag for trash, so you can keep your traveling area neat. You might also want to keep a supply of wet wipes available to clean fingers, faces and accidents, which can then be tossed in the plastic bag for disposal.
The goal is to have a great family experience together. The active travel part of any vacation or planned trip can be stressful or it can be smooth. Bringing familiar items along on the trip will help your children adjust to new surroundings. Allowing them to actively participate by having some control over their things will make the family experience an enjoyable and memorable one.
The Lauder clan has been vacationing with their kids and grandkids for three decades. Kids suitcases these days have become more fun and practical than ever. We highly recommend these childrens luggage resources.
Hotel Casa Vista Azul And Playa Del Coco Costa Rica
Costa Rica is a county with a crazy amount of miles of coastlines but the Gulf of Papagayo has some of the most popular beaches of the country. I had heard so much about this area and I was dying to visit it. Finally I got the opportunity to visit it. The specific area of it that I visited is called Playa del Coco.
So searching for a hotel was quite an adventure. Finally we found a hotel that looked beautiful and had space for us. The name of the hotel was Casa Vista Azul. It is located just 25 minutes away from the Liberia International Airport and within walking distance of Coco beach.
Let me give you a short description of the hotel:
First it’s important to say that it is on a hill side and overlooks the Gulf of Papagayo. The hotel offers 7 regular rooms, one with twin bed, the others have queen size beds. There are also 2 one-bedroom apartments with full kitchens. All of the rooms have air conditioning, ceiling fans, safe-deposit boxes, a beautiful decoration and magnificent ocean views. Some other services that this great hillside hotel offers are: a swimming pool and maid service.

The next morning I woke up by the howls of howler monkeys and as soon as I opened the curtains I could enjoy the most amazing views.
Back to Playa del Coco, this is a beautiful tranquil beach perfect for relaxing and romantic walks. The area has some great restaurants and stores. This beach is every traveler’s dream. I would highly recommend visiting this popular region of Costa Rica to anyone, from families to honeymooners. We all had a blast when we visited it!

Wet, Wild And Wonderful
Louisiana is called the “Festival State” by many people in the United States. Festivals are a year round occurrence here in Louisiana but spring offers the biggest selection. We always have something to celebrate down here in bayou country so if you like a good party this is where it is happening. The Audubon Zoo plays host to quite a few festivals themselves. Soul Fest was held on the Zoo grounds last weekend. A colorful celebration of African-American culture, New Orleans Creole cuisine and soul food mixed with R&B and hip hop kicked off a round of happenings at NOLA’s own “animal house”, the Audubon Zoo.
In my child accompanied travels across the country I have been to my fair share of Zoo’s and believe me when I say Audubon Zoo out classes them all. Not only is the Zoo itself beautifully done but it definitely does its part to promote Louisiana. There is plenty of natural habit for the animals. There are also lots of grassy and shaded areas for people to enjoy. The Zoo and its events offer a wonderful experience to all who visit. There are things for people of all ages to do and enjoy.
Trailing after Soul Fest are several others including Earth Fest, Asian Pacific American Society and then immediately after those are the popular fund raisers for the Audubon Society, the Whitney Zoo To Do and Zoo To Do for Kids sponsored by Humana. These fundraisers will help The Audubon Institute underwrite a new attraction for our favorite Zoo called Cool Zoo, an animal themed splash park designed especially with the kiddos in mind. With the hot Louisiana summer getting closer by the minute this is welcome news. Cool Stuff!
A jumping water spouts, a huge alligator (we are in Louisiana after all) water slide, a spider monkey soaker and water spitting snakes are just a few of the highlights coming to New Orleans. Right at the Zoo will be a new wet and wild splash park called the Cool Zoo. The splash park will offer three different splash zones. One will be specifically for toddlers and younger zoo goers. Pack that extra change of clothes or at least put a swimsuit and towel in the bag before you head out for some wet and wild fun.
In addition to all the custom animal features in the new Cool Zoo, there will be animal sounds in the “Sound Spray” area. When the water sprays you hear matching animal sounds like croaks, bleats, roars or squawks. This is something that children really enjoy. It gives them a feeling of being in the “wild”. The Caterpillar sprayer is designed to look like a monarch butterfly and the giant alligator’s tail is the waterslide! This new hot spot will be located between the Endangered Species Carousel and the Embraceable Zoo. Construction should begin soon. So get ready for some Cool Zoo fun.
Another exciting new attraction for the Big Easy set to open this summer is Parakeet Pointe. Located at the Aquarium of the Americas, this drawing card will be an 800 square foot tropical environment and home to more than 1,000 free flying parakeets! For an even closer encounter, purchase a feed stick for a dollar and feed the bright beautiful little birds. These guys are all naturally curious and playful. The kids and you kid-like adults will love it! There is always something going on in the Crescent City, old and new. This summer seems to be no exception. So pack the bags, grab the kids and get on over here. New Orleans is waiting. By Sharon Denise Talbot.

The Total Spa Experience, Arenal Volcano, Costa Rica
I don’t know about you, but I love to be pampered! But that doesn’t mean that I like the regular spas that have incense burning in a corner and new-age music playing in the background. I want something different.
This is how you get here: Fly into San Jose, Costa Rica. From here you can either take a domestic flight to the La Fortuna airport, or get a private driver which will drive you directly to the resort. Personally I love the drive. It allows me to learn all about the new place I’m visiting.
Arenal volcano is considered one of the top ten most active volcanoes in the world. Because of this amazing phenomenon the surrounding areas benefit from its rich soil and naturally heated springs.
Did you know that Volcano Arenal is one of the top ten most active volcanoes in the world? Because of this amazing phenomenon the surrounding areas benefit from its rich soil and naturally heated springs. The hot springs are a perfect combination of rain water, minerals and climate that make them a perfect way to relax.
I’m also a huge fan of the ‘hotel experience’. If I’m going to go away with my girlfriends I want to chill out and have everything at my fingertips.
Where to begin? The bar of course! You don’t have to become a bar fly in some dark lit room. Here you can put on your bikinis and head to the springs. And right in the middle of one of the hot springs is Los Perdidos jungle bar serving up delicious drinks! The Lost Springs is a series of naturally heated hot springs and cool pools.

Costa Rica: Our Photography Tour Of Fiery Arenal Volcano
[I:http://www.wystravel.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/FrankScott6.jpg]
All our luggage and camera gear is packed in the van by 8 a.m. and we are on our way to our first destination, soon to become a real life adventure. We are on a photography tour so everyone is talking cameras and pictures. This is the first day, we are getting to know one another, and the level of excitement in the van is high looking forward to the tour.
We are on our way to Arenal, an active volcano in Costa Rica, but there are a few stops along the way. First, we stop in Sarchi, famous for its tropical furniture, where magnificent, brightly decorated ox carts are made in an eighty plus year old water powered factory. From there, we drive to the little mountain town of Zarcero where the focal point is the old wooden church with its much-photographed double row of topiaries leading to its entrance. You can fill your camera’s memory card just at these two places with the colours and patterns in Sarchi and the fantastic shapes of the topiaries in Zarcero.
Luis, our driver, is very familiar with the many potholes that make Costa Rica famous, so he cautiously makes his way along the road while most everyone else, on 2 or 4 wheels, pass us by. The number of wannabe Formula One drivers in Costa Rica is staggering. There is even a bus driver who has been known to have passengers find religion and speak directly to God on his overland route.
After our planned stops and lunch in La Fortuna we are now just a few miles from our lodge at Arenal. As we leave the main highway we find ourselves on a road that is one continuous pothole. It is January and the rainy season has just ended so most roads are in poor condition but what is unique about this road is that it was constructed from crushed lava rock.
We round a curve and a come to a clearing at a river and there is Arenal Volcano! Most have never been face to face with a volcano before and it is truly an awesome sight to see, a perfectly shaped volcano.
The point of the cone is cloaked in puffy white clouds with a beautiful blue sky as a backdrop. We immediately stop and quickly leave the van attaching cameras to tripods. Some of us wade into the river for a better image while some shoot from the riverbanks getting a different perspective.
Arenal is highly monitored and quite predictable so even being this close the volcano holds little risk of a sudden, catastrophic eruption, though small eruptions are very common. The base of the volcano is 1 km from the lodge and the cone is 2 km away, which gives the guests at this lodge many opportunities to experience the volcanic activity.
What a surprise that while we are unpacking and settling in, Arenal comes to life again! It roars loudly as smoke and gas shoot many hundreds of feet into the sky and rocks tumble down the slopes. Mantled Howler monkeys hoot loudly following the eruption but we really do not know if they are hooting in protest or howling in support.
While enjoying our meal in the lodge dining room mighty Arenal speaks again! Although there are many photo opportunities in Costa Rica, who would have imagined that while eating dinner we would be gazing up at a volcano erupting in front of our eyes? And this on our very first day of the tour!
For the next two nights most of us get very little sleep as we find comfortable chairs in the common area outside our rooms, mount our cameras on tripods and attach a cable release. I had already decided to use an 80-200mm lens set at 80mm and an aperture of f8, the camera shutter set at “B” for time exposure.
The activity of the small flare-ups at the cone and the lava flowing down the opposite side makes me think that a time exposure of more than 20 minutes could produce an ugly yellow blob of light and if there are no eruptions after this time I will close the shutter and start another exposure. In using a cable release the exposures are perfectly sharp and Arenal cooperates by putting on quite a display while we are there.
Arenal volcano was the first adventure for my photography group in Costa Rica. Everyone is looking forward to the next eight days and the marvelous and exciting photo opportunities they will have. Pura Vida!
