The terrorist activity would probably be less because there would be little chance of people entering different Countries. Therefore we would probably be much safer.
The postal system is also important and without transport then people would not be able to send post. This is especially important for business correspondence and communicating with other businesses. Developing Countries with limited transport find it difficult to make money since it is not as easy to trade with these Countries. For a Country to be profitable then they need to have a good transport system in place so that they can easily trade with one Country or another.
