This town is loved for its old world feel, with cobblestone streets and colonial architecture. Relax on the beach, enjoy the tastes of the many restaurants, or take a tour into the jungle. This is one of the best cities for the gay traveler. There are several gay beaches to choose from, but if you are in the Playa Los Muertos at the right season, you might be able to catch sightings of whales or a school of dolphins. At night, you can take in a drag show or play some gay bingo.

Cancun is known for having some of the most beautiful beaches in Mexico and great waters for snorkeling and scuba diving. If you want to get away from the tourists, downtown Cancun is a great alternative for shopping. This destination is made for tourists and is becoming more affordable than other spots.

The gay scene in Cancun has been steadily growing, more and more hotels are advertising themselves as gay friendly. Just look for the rainbow flag. The island is host to festivals during the months of May and November – the Cancun International Gay Festival and the Cancun Riviera Maya Gay Fall Festival.
