In 1903, a program focusing on breeding of cotton and can cultivated in the whole South was initiated and the site can be found in Coker Experimental Farms located in Hartsville, South Carolina. The cotton breeding facility is among the historical facilities in the records of Nation Register of Historic Places and at National Historic landmark as well. It is only one among the 14 facilities that represent the country in agricultural sector.
