How To Travel In Luxury On A Shoestring Budget

Love to travel but don’t have the thousands of dollars to do it? You can get luxury travel on a shoestring budget just by planning a little more carefully. Read these tips that will allow you to go on your well-deserved getaway without burning a hole in your pocket.

Always remember when planning your trip that timing is the key. School vacation weeks are the worst; always crowded with children and the airfare is sky high and no pun intended.

You can often buy a first class ticket during the off-season for the same price as a coach seat in the school vacation week. So unless you really love to spend your flight with a screaming child kicking the back of your seat, you should stay away from the winter and spring breaks.

Regardless of where you decide to book your luxury travel arrangements (with an agent or on the Internet) make sure that you know exactly who you are working with. Make sure you choose the right specialist for what you’re looking for.

Do not only consider the price. Many times quality wins over quantity. If you chose the same company in more than one case you will build a relationship with them. And if you are loyal to them, they will be the same with you. In the end they will do a lot to get your business.

You can compare it with the frequent flyer programs. You are loyal to the airline and they will reward you with a free flight for your loyalty. If you ask when booking the trip, it is often possible to get a free upgrade too.

If you are lucky your coach tickets could be converted to a first class ticket. Or you suite could be changed to a deluxe version. And what is the worst thing that could happen by asking? You could get a no, and then nothing is different than before.

If the company makes an error, you should take advantages of it. They want to have a high level of customer satisfaction, so they rely on their guest to present them with information on how to improve.

Your criticism will ensure that you (and other travelers) will have a satisfactory luxury vacation. Be sure to find someone who is willing to work with unhappy customers. Many times, people get aggravated with customers who complain, so check review sites ahead of time. Once you get the trip planned out, relax and have fun while you enjoy your luxury travel on a shoestring budget.

Learn How To Find Cheap Airline Tickets

So you want a cheap airline ticket. Not a problem. You just have to focus on two issues: planning and flexibility. This combination can save you a lot of money.

You can save a lot of money by being flexible. Instead of going to a place in the high season, you can often wait a few months for the low season and get tickets for a much lower price. This way you can also save money on food, accommodation, sightseeing etc.

The day of the week does also matters. Are you planning to go to a business destination (like Brussels) you should go in the weekend, because all the business is done on one of the weekdays. On the other hand if you are visiting a typical holiday destination, it can be smart to fly there on a weekday.

There are places that are expensive to fly to; whatever day or month you choose. If you are planning to go to one of those places, you can ask yourself, if you can find a cheaper location with the same of attractions instead.

Even though it is possible to find good last minute ticket offers, you will normally find the cheapest tickets if you plan well ahead. Tests have proven that the best time to book an airline ticket is four weeks before departure. If you are doing that you will have the highest flexibility for the lowest price.

When it comes to actually finding the cheap airline tickets, the Internet is your best friend. Use one the many air ticket search engines using the preferred location and dates. Then try to vary the dates a little (e.g. from a weekday to the weekend) to see if the price changes significant.

After you have found the perfect sets of location and dates, you can try to do the same search in another airline ticket search engine. You can also try to look directly on the airline website. Both methods can give you even cheaper prices.

So remember when buying cheap airline tickets flexibility is a must. Fly in the low season and on the right day. And stay away from the most expensive places. This way you can save a lot of money.

And do always plan well ahead using the great ticket search engines on the Internet.

What to See in Prague

Prague has become one of the most popular places to visit in Europe. The combination of great sights and low prices makes it a very great place for a vacation. You can find cheap hotels, cheap gourmet food and large beers.

The first historical building in Prague was the castle Prazsky Hrad. It was built in the 9th century. The castle sits on a hill high above the Vltava River.

A monastery, three churches and a palace is located behind the castle walls. In 1320 the city Hradcany was founded in one part of the castle’s outer courtyard.

The president seat has been located in the castle since 1918. There is changing of the Guard every hour in front of the castle. At noon it even includes fanfare.

The old part of Prague is called Stare Mesto. Centrally located in the area is Staromestske namesti (in English Old Town Square). A lot of historical buildings surround the square; a sight that can be compared with almost any other European city.

The first settlements started in the 10th century around the castle. From here it spread to the other side of the Vltava River. The main building point was around the square in the old town.

The Old Town Hall was built in 1338 and in 1490 the unusual astronomical clock was added. Today large groups crowd to watch the show with odd performers like a rooster, a turkey, apostles, the Death, the Greed and the Vanity.

The famous Charles Bridge is 520 meters long and built of sandstone blocks, which is said to be reinforced with a mixture of mortar and eggs. The bridge was built in 1357 and until 1741 was Charles Bridge is the only way to cross the Vltava.

Until 1683 the bridge was only decorated with a simple cross. Then the first statues were set up, and since a lot of other statues have followed; statues that gives the bridge its characteristic look.

The bridge is a popular place for tourists; and for artists and merchants who offer the wares to the tourists.

Even though Prague is more expensive than it used to be, it is still a great place for shopping. And it is not just wares from former East European countries that are for sale.

Since the Velvet Revolution in 1989 a lot has happened in Prague; both in terms of foreign and Czech products. Today all major American and Western European brands are represented in Prague. And you can easily spend a full day shopping in department stores and specialty shops in downtown Prague.

4 Lesser Known European Cities You Have To Visit

Did you know that Europe has 50 different countries? And did you plan to visit all of them on your next Europe-trip. Well, unless you have several months, you should instead focus on a few large cities. Below I will suggest 4 cities in 4 countries, which all have great sights, delicious food and/or superb nightlife.

Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Are you looking for a city with a very liberal minded look at hashish and sex? Then Amsterdam is the place for you. In the so-called coffeeshops you can buy hash and around the corner in the Red Light District you find women in all nationalities and sizes.

But Amsterdam is much more than that. You can also see great art by Van Gogh and Rembrandt. Or visit the Anne Frank House ” known from the Anne Frank’s Diary.

Barcelona, Spain. The capital of Spain is Madrid ” but the most interesting city is without doubt Barcelona. The city has everything: great food, interesting sights and a very fine nightlife. And then there is FC Barcelona ” the famous football club with the amazing stadium Camp Nou.

On a visit to Barcelona you also have to see Sagrada Famlia ” the unfinished cathedral by Antoni Gaud. Finish your day by a stroll down the La Ramla to the great harbor area, and eat tapas in Barceloneta.

Budapest, Hungary. The Danube (known from the famous The Blue Danube waltz by Johan Strauss) divides Budapest in two: the hilly Buda on the left and the flat Pest on the right. The sightseeing should be focused on the Castle Hill in Buda and the central part of Pest, where the greatest sights are found.

Must see sights are the Royal Palace and the National Gallery. The large parks on Margaret Island are a pleasant place to relax and wander in the afternoon. The best shops are found in Vci Street and in Westend City Center ” the largest shopping centre in Central Europe.

Prague, the Czech Republic. Even though prices have gone up since the end of the Cold War, Prague is still the place for a cheap vacation. Here you can find both very reasonably priced accommodation and restaurants.

In Prague there are also many great sights. You can start your visit by the amazing Astronomical Clock in the old part of the city (called Star Mesto). Then you can pass the Vltava River on the Charles Bridge (remember to look at the painters and souvenir sellers) to left side of Prague. On the hills you can visit the biggest ancient castle in the world, the Prague Castle. If you have more time, also visit the Kafka Museum, the Jewish Museum and the Josefov ” the historical Jewish ghetto.

6 Places for a Great Holiday in Turkey

Turkey is a great place to go in the summer. The holiday destinations have everything you need for a great vacation. The weather is almost always perfect with sun the whole day. The beaches are great and the parties are going on all night. Finally the Turkeys kitchen is very good.

If you just want to relax, you can spend the whole day on the beach. If you want some action, you can try one of the water sports: jet skiing, parasailing or the banana boat. Or you can just play a game of beach volleyball.

If you like to be active in your holiday, you can trek in the mountains or do some mountain- or ravine climbing. If water is more your element, Turkey does also has a lot of places for diving, sea kayaking and rafting.

The most popular holiday destination right now is without doubt Alanya. About 10 % of all tourists in Turkey are on vacation in Alanya. The reason is probably the combination of two great beaches and the interesting sights. The best of them is the castle hill that divides the two beaches. From the top 250 meter (820 feet) above the sea there is a great view of Alanya and the surrounding country.

If you bring your kids, a popular attraction is the Water Planet Aquapark. It is one of Turkeys largest water parks with everything from rafting and water slides to bungee jumping and crazy golf. Alanya does also have a lot of shops with both real and fake branded goods. The night can be spent in the many discos and bars.

Antalya is a little different than the other holiday destinations. The city is not the typical fisher village that has grown into a holiday village. The city has 500,000 residents, so here you see more locals than tourists. It also means that you get a better insight into the real Turkey.

As a large city Alanya has a lot of bazaars, shopping centers and shopping streets. But there are also many interesting sights from the Roman Empire in the city. Many of them are in the old part of the city called Kaleici. Here you can also see old men playing dominoes while the women preparing the dinner.

The number one golf destination in Turkey is without doubt Belek. Eight golf courses can be found in the area; and many more are on their way. It can be necessary to book several months before the holiday, if you are going in the high season.

But Belek is more than playing golf. Here is a fantastic nature and an incredible silence, which are not found in the livelier holiday destinations such as Alanya and Side. Belek is also a paradise for bird lovers. The city does of course also have fine shopping and several water parks.

Surrounded by the Taurus Mountains and the Mediterranean is Kemer. Here you find a very special mix of the real Turkey and a great holiday destination with lively pedestrian streets, nice beach promenades and an elegant marina.

For some sightseeing you can visit the ruins of Phaselis; the winter location for Alexander the Great. Another great place (especially for the kids) is the 55,000 m2 Moonlight Park in the middle of Kemer. Here you find a playground, restaurants, bars, discos; and even a dolphinarium

Kusadasi is another fishing village which has developed into a holiday destination. The city has a lot of great Turkey restaurants, and while the nightlife is not a wild as in Alanya or Side, there is still a small bar street with discos and bars.

Kusadasi has an international feeling because of the many cruise ship guests in the city, which arrives to see the famous sight Efesos (also named Efesus). So expect a lot of smart cafes and shops with international clothing brands.

Side is probably the most romantic holiday destination in Turkey. In the old town you find many old Roman buildings. And if you walk a little away from the main street, it is possible to find quiet streets with well-preserved wood and stone houses. The city’s theater is certainly also worth a visit. In the old days there were gladiator fights; today you will find more peaceful concerts and theater.

When you get tired of all the culture and sight, you can dive into Sides wild nightlife. One of the most popular bars is located among the ruins of two old temples from the 2nd century. Side has two beaches; the lively and kid friendly western beach and the quieter east beach.

How To Save Money On Airfare, Hotels And Car Rental

Do not just cross your fingers and hope for the best, when it comes to finding a good travel deal. Instead do a lot of research, so you are sure to get value for your hard-earned money when going on vacation.

The more time you book in advance, the more time you have to keep a close eye on hotel prices and airfare; and make exchanges wherever applicable. If you’ve been searching for a long time now, and you see something that looks like a good deal, it probably is.

Try to look online for various travel deals. Booking online is probably one of the most cost-cutting and valuable methods of making reservations somewhere. Simply checking websites that claim the lowest prices isn’t enough anymore. Compare prices everywhere in order to get a good travel deal.

If you’re a generally a spur-of-the-moment type person, always be sure to check for last minute deals on flights that still have empty seats a few hours before boarding. This could cut costs by a lot since airlines want your business.

When you find a vacation that looks like a good deal always check that taxes and all applicable fees are included. If they aren’t it can cost you a lot of extra money; and make the deal not that good.

When you are looking for a hotel or an airfare do not just take the first rate that you are offered. Ask if there are special rates for senior, corporate or military (or something else that you might qualify for).

You can get a better travel deal, if you are selecting a hotel outside the city you are visiting. Do also ask if it is possible to get a free upgrade for a better room. Often it is possible if the room is vacant.

Getting a great travel deal on a rental car is easy if you ask for upgrades. Generally, it’s less expensive to rent using the online service rather than walking in and renting a full week is often cheaper than a daily rate. Don’t forget to add taxes to whatever rate you’re being offered.

Check the auto-insurance agent if you are covered if you are involved in an accident with your rental care. Also make notes of any stains, scratches, dents and or other damages before leaving the lot. You shall not pay for someone else’s carelessness.

A final good travel deal tip is to try walking from your hotel or hostel to a local restaurant. This will eliminate cab costs and will make you feel better gaining some fresh air and being able to take in all of the local scenery.

How To Get The Cheapest Airline Tickets

Flying is an expensive type of transport, so if nice if it is possible to save a little bit of money. And if you include all the extra fees, you have to pay it can seem hard to save any money at all.

There are however methods that can save you a lot of money on your next airfare. You do just have to do some planning, then you can travel with exact the airline company you prefer. And it is without spending all your money on it.

The most important thing to do is to plan well ahead to get the lowest airfare. The airlines will give you a huge discount if you book well in advance to the traveling date. So if you know your departure date, you should wait before booking. It is possible to book up to eight months before the date on most airline companies. If you do so, you will get the best rate.

Those that get their reservations in well ahead of time and are on the plane first get the best rates for that flight. This method is great for those that know when and where they are going to be traveling and that can mean a large discount.

If booking well in advance is not an option you can go the opposite way: book as late as possible. Almost any airline has a standby system, where you can get a ticket on a significant reduced price. The airline companies are eager to fill their seats, so they want your business; even though it means that you do only pay a fraction of the normal price.

Of course there is a risk that you cannot get on any flights because there are no cancellations. And you do also have to wait in the terminal; sometimes for a very long time. So this method might not be for everybody.

On the internet you can find search engines to find the cheapest airline tickets. It can save you a lot of money. You just enter your data, press search and wait for the result. From here you can click you directly to the airline company.
