The largest and biggest convention centre in the Southern part of the world is the Melbourne Convention Centre. You have locations that are a bit older that have undergone a bunch of refurbishment as well. One place to look into is the beautiful Rialto Hotel. Spending 60 million to fix this location up, it is a five star location that is 10 stories high!
Check out the Grand Hyatt as well, they spent recently 45 million to upgrade not only the lobbies and dining areas. But they will also be working on upgrading those guest rooms as well. Planning to have that done by 2011, it could easily be another place you check out.
You still have many other choices that you can check out that include the Hilton Melbourne, a wonderful new five star location. Containing not only 396 rooms, but also 26 suites and a total of 32 apartments that you can stay in. The South Wharf location opened in April 2009, and is a perfect location for many people when they come to stay in this area.
Hilton is also doing a lot of refurbishment on older locations, one of which is the Hilton on the Park. This location has some 419 rooms that you can check out, and they even have some wonderful new developments. Adding in an executive floor that contains some really wonderful relaxation suites to look into.
Of course you cannot forget about the Crown Tower and Hotels located in the area. You have a choice of three luxurious locations all located on the Yarra River.
