The Cascade Range runs nearly the full north-south length of the state, closer to the coast than the Oregon/Idaho border. You’ll find milder weather and the larger cities on the ocean side of the mountains.

Camping in Oregon is as easy as picking your location, packing your tent and warm clothes and driving to the location. Most campgrounds are equipped with restrooms, some even boast showers.
Camping in Oregon in tee-pees is also a possibility, which are generally shaped like tents but constructed of leather or some other sturdy material, and often held up by an arrangement of sticks through the center. Beds are not provided for tee-pee stays.
It’s easy to find campgrounds in Oregon, but if money is a concern you’ll find that the state campgrounds are usually less expensive the those that are privately run. As a rule these state maintained campgrounds are well run and kept in beautiful condition. Oregon offers visitors outstanding outdoor adventures.

Florida is an extremely popular vacation destination. The number of folks who travel to Florida every year is astounding. Not surprising, considering the weather, the beaches, and all the available activities – golfing, fishing, diving, and nearly endless theme parks.
Unlike cities in the Northeast, cities in Florida have grown outward, rather than upward. Beyond the cities you’ll find plenty of wilderness areas in the panhandle and the center of the state.
Florida spring break vacationers hit the hottest beaches from mid-February to early April, with the biggest crowds of college students descending on Florida’s beaches in mid-March. Spring break travelers find plenty of sun and fun at Daytona Beach, Miami’s South Beach, the Florida Keys and inland in Orlando at Universal Orlando, the water parks and the Disney theme parks.
There is fun in Florida in everyone. Many people have vacationed in Florida for years, and cherish the memories of those trips. The weather is a close to tropical as it gets in the 48 states – winters in the 60s and 70s, and summers in the 80s and 90s.
The Florida climate is also ideal for growing citrus fruit, most notably oranges. Florida is the largest producer of orange juice in the world. If you’ve never driven by an orange juice production facility then you don’t know what orange really smells like, it is a fantastic perfume. The state is the leader in the tangerine and grapefruit crops too.
Tomatoes are another major cash crop for Florida. The state even outproduces California. Most of Florida’s tomatoes are used whole, whereas California’s are relegated to being used for processed foods.
Florida offers pleasures for everyone, regardless of interest. Outdoor sports abound, and most are available all year. Auto racing, horse racing, golf everywhere, and of course all the theme parks make Florida special.
