There are always ways to tell whether a tan is fake or real. One way is that a fake tan generally does not seem to last very long, whereas a real tan can be around for quite a while.

Trying to get yourself a real tan means staying out in the Sun for longer than you may wish to. All the UV rays that you are subjecting yourself too could be damaging your skin.

Fake tans also have a handy knack of glossing over certain skin complaints such as certain blemishes. The fake tan gives your skin a coating that can make you feel less embarrassed about your skin.

It is a well known fact that if you already suffer from any sort of pigmentation problems within your skin, prolonged use of the Sun for your tanning will make the pigmentation much worse than before.

These are some of the main differences between getting a fake tan or a real tan. It is common knowledge that a fake tan is far safer to get than getting a real tan. But at the end of the day it is entirely up to you to make what sort of tan you want, and for you to make that decision.
